TURMERIC IS MAGIC - PUT IT ON UR FACE
This gorgeous super-spice has been used in Asia for thousands of years as a major part of food and medicine.
Are you ready for it? Turmeric is good fooooor... Manganese, potassium, iron, fiber, vitamin B6, magnesium, vitamin C, antioxidants, digestion, inflammation, brain health and heart disease.
Don't take my word for it. Read more in depth info here and here.
NOW LET'S PUT IT ON OUR FACES
Here's a bunch of different recipes for different skin types
AND my personalized SUPERMASK
I will also warn that some people are very sensitive to turmeric on their skin!! It may tingle but if it starts to hurt a lot, take it off. You can spot test on a small area of your face to see if you will be ok. It does keep in the fridge for about a week too, so you can test it, wait a day, then try the full mask.
FOR ACNE / COMBINATION SKIN - Pick your best fit
1 TSP TURMERIC + NATURAL MILK (lactic acid will help lighten and soften skin)
Whole milk for combination skin
Skim milk for oily skin
1 TSP TURMERIC + 2 TBSP RAW HONEY (acts as a humectant and helps hyperpigmentation)
1 TSP TURMERIC + ORGANIC COCONUT OIL (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory)
1 TSP TURMERIC + GRAM OR RICE FLOUR (absorbs access moisture) + ROSE WATER (tones skin)
FOR OILY SKIN
1 TSP TURMERIC + 2 TBSP LEMON JUICE (tightens pores, brightens skin)
* If you have sensitive skin, do a spot test first and avoid direct sunlight immediately after use - skin will be sensitive.
1 TBSP TURMERIC + 1 TBSP NATURAL ALOE VERA GEL (antimicrobial, heals, soothes)
* Add water if needed
1 TBSP TURMERIC + NATURAL CLAY + ROSE WATER
I made my own supermask for my skin type (dry/combination - takes well to natural oils)
FRESH ALOE VERA
This is after 10-15 mins with the mask on and a good rinse with warm water! **If it starts to hurt or burn a lot - take it off!!!!
No filter! Just a window
Try it out and let me know how it went!
